The University of Angers provides several tools to check your schedule: a dedicated web portal, a mobile application, and synchronization options with personal calendars. These channels cover most of the common needs of students and temporary staff. Their operation relies on the institution’s Digital Work Environment (ENT), which must be activated to access all scheduling resources.

Cancelled or moved classes not showing: which official channel to check

A change of room, a rescheduling of a seminar, or a last-minute cancellation does not always immediately reflect in the mobile application or in the synchronized calendar on a phone. The delay depends on the refresh rate of the feed and the local cache of the device.

The UnivAngers application sends a notification in case of changes within 48 hours before the class. This timeframe covers anticipated modifications, but a change decided on the same morning may take several minutes to appear in the interface.

When the display seems frozen, the first reflex is to check the official web portal for the schedule, accessible at edt.univ-angers.fr/edt. This site pulls its data from the same database as the application, but without going through the phone’s cache. A simple page reload in a browser is enough to get the most recent version of the schedule.

If doubts persist, the educational secretariat of the concerned component (UFR ESTHUA, Faculty of Arts, Cholet campus, etc.) remains the most reliable channel. An email or a visit to the office can confirm a change that has not yet been entered into the system. Instructors also sometimes communicate via the Zimbra messaging system of the ENT, especially to report a last-minute conflict.

Synchronizing the Angers schedule with Google Calendar or Apple Calendar

Checking your schedule directly in your personal calendar avoids opening an additional application every morning. The University of Angers offers a synchronization feed accessible from the ENT, compatible with most mobile calendars.

Retrieving the synchronization link from the ENT

The procedure goes through the portal edt.univ-angers.fr/edt. Two icons allow you to generate an iCal type URL. This URL, once copied, can be added to Google Calendar (in the “Other calendars” section, then “From URL”) or in Apple Calendar (subscribing to a calendar).

The synchronized calendar updates automatically, but the refresh rate varies depending on the service used. Google Calendar may take several hours to reflect a change.

Concrete limits of synchronization

The iCal feed is read-only: it is impossible to add notes or manually move a time slot. A course modified on the server side overwrites the local version, which can be surprising if a custom reminder had been added for that slot in your calendar.

Another point to anticipate: the synchronization does not transmit push notifications. Only the UnivAngers application sends alerts in case of modifications. Combining the two (app for alerts, synchronized calendar for an overview) remains the most comprehensive setup.

UnivAngers Application: what it does and what it does not cover

Available on the App Store and Google Play, the UnivAngers application consolidates several services beyond just the schedule:

  • Real-time consultation of the course schedule, distinguishing between lectures, seminars, and practicals, with room indication.
  • Personalized notifications by campus and component, covering events, strikes, or site closures.
  • Access to dematerialized certificates (student certificate, cultural card) directly from the phone.
  • Interactive maps of the Angers and Cholet campuses, with route calculation and building coordinates.

The application does not replace the ENT for all administrative procedures. Educational registration, checking grades, or submitting assignments go through other interfaces. It also does not manage the schedules of partner programs hosted outside the university system.

When the app is not enough

Some programs, particularly in language degrees or in ESTHUA Tourism and Culture tracks, use complementary schedules distributed by secretariats via Zimbra messaging or displayed on component boards. The app displays the centralized schedule, not the local adjustments decided at the department level.

For temporary staff, the procedure is the same as for students once ENT access is opened. The university’s official tutorial specifies the steps for synchronization, and the web portal remains accessible without installing the application.

Third-party alternatives for the schedule at the University of Angers

Applications like TimeCalendar offer to import the University of Angers’ schedule into a different interface. These tools retrieve data from the same feed, present it with their own design, and sometimes add functions (personal events, management of multiple groups).

The main advantage is the ability to combine multiple schedules into a single view, useful for students enrolled in two programs or taking options on another campus. The downside is the addition of an extra intermediary in the update chain: if the source feed takes time to refresh, the third-party application cannot go faster.

These services are not managed by the University of Angers. In case of display issues or missing data, the official portal edt.univ-angers.fr remains the reference. Any discrepancy between a third-party app and the university’s site is resolved by consulting the latter.

The choice between the official application, a synchronized calendar, and a third-party tool mainly depends on the desired level of control over notifications and the need to merge multiple schedules. None of these channels exempt from checking with the educational secretariat when there is doubt about a last-minute change.
